Acrylics, ink, gold ink on watercolourpaper.
8,27" x 5,51" / 21 cm x 14,6, 2014.

It's been a while since I've uploaded something.
These last months were pretty busy with other things.
This illustration even went with me to Japan, back and forth.
I've painted the first layers with acrylics and added slowly more layers to it with pencil and ink. Finally gold ink. It was finding the right balance between the values. I've decided to make the background darker, because I wanted the eyes to be the center of attention.
The first idea was to let it fall into the water, make it a nest with little birds inside, or little houses on top, but everything was too much.
I've bought some close-up filters for my Canon Mark2, it's...amazing! I love it.
