Painting and sketching

I'm still have to find some time to work on this painting.

Pencil and red pencil on paper.

Inspiration

They look like robots looking at the sunset. Antwerpen, Belgium.

I love albino animals...

These two ducks are always together on the station! Sweet.

I've never seen something like this before. But it's full of caterpillars!

Published in Playboy magazine.

Publication in July August Issue of Playboy Magazine.
I'm very happy to see the result. This is deffinately a motivation to do more for the magazine industry.

The article is about downdating and how people often think that the carreer woman will have more power in the relationship if she dates with lower-educated men. I thought this was a very interesting article! I wanted to show different type of man in a icebox because now the woman can choose whoever she wants and get a little taste of it. You'll see a gardner, a trashman and a windowcleaner in the box. The woman picked up the constructionworker that refers to the title.

Drawing 1: Distraction.

Pencil on paper.
50 x 70 cm.

Click on the image to enlarge it. Because i was drawing on big scale you can see more detail and it makes the lines much tighter. The concept is about distraction in a positive way for somebody who is/was addicted. You will find all kind of hobbies if you look at the things around him.

Freestyle sketches

Graphite on paper.

I'm freestyling again in my dummy. In other words drawing without boundaries. The best ideas come straight from the head. I like to see my final illustrations as a mix of fantasy and reference.

Illustration Serie

I have to make 5 illustration and a cover for a little book about self-knowledge etc.
First of all i started with the brainstorm when i got the keywords and short text. Some of the ideas are strong from the first time. For others i got inspiration by googling words, like conviction, succes, letting go.

I like to see the idea grow and noticing where i have to work on to get a strong picture. I used a humanfigure where you can relate to. I think i have to reshape it to make a more special image!

www.facebook.coom/marjoleincaljouw

But now i have something new! Twitter.
Yeay.

I think it's handy for the quick updates and it doesn't have to be perfectly scanned with great light. It makes me update more, everytime if i have done something like a sketch or even rough thumbnails. So enjoy!

Panama Lovebirds

Pencil on paper. 21 cm x 29,7 cm.
A rough sketch for an engaged couple in Panama City. I used the minicooper as inspiration for the colorcombination yellow, gray, black. Everything is very fluffy and sweet because of the round shapes and the soft white elements.

Graphite and Photoshop.
The little girl on the left releases the little ladybugs that transform in little cars .
Graphite and photoshop.
The total images will be print as three postcards. You can send them seperately and put them together afterwards!
